If you’re a contemporary art enthusiast or have a few spare hours in Athens, Art Athina is not to be missed. As one of the oldest and most influential art fairs in Europe, Art Athina boasts mixed mediums that includes paintings, sculptures, videos, performances and talks by distinguished guests.
Established by the Hellenic Art Galleries Association in 1993, this year promises to be another exciting adventure in art as curators, art dealers, collectors, art enthusiasts and novices, will come together to experience a curated collection comprised of 970 artworks, 59 galleries, and 300 artists.
This carefully curated international collection boasts some of the best Greek work as well. With a renewed focus on design, sustainability and inclusivity, this highly anticipated exhibition returns to the grand Zappeion Megaron, which is a part of national heritage of Greek civilization in the center of Athens.
Visitors can also explore the surrounding gardens and the Aigli open-air cinema after perusing the thought provoking Design segment that’s showcasing experimental design and collectable objects, independent art spaces and displays, and engaging talks.
Additionally, guests can experience innovative storytelling and groundbreaking works through the Video and Performance segments. The Educational program will engage children and teenagers in contemporary art and culture, too.
Something for everyone, this fair is the perfect way to engage with international art trends regardless of expertise. Opening September 19th, the fair will run through the 23rd and all are welcome.
