WASHINGTON – The American Hellenic Institute Internship Program summer 2024 session participants Phoebe Chambers and Petros Dimitrakopoulos joined AHI Legislative Director Alexander Christofor on Capitol Hill this August to learn how AHI promotes its policies in the legislative branch.

The interns prepared briefing materials, conducted policy research, and gave a presentation to the Office of Representative Dan Goldman (D-NY) on U.S. interests involving Greece and the Republic of Cyprus (RoC).

“I congratulate our AHI interns for all the hard work they put into understanding our legislative issues and preparing to promote them on Capitol Hill” said AHI President Nick Larigakis. “Educating students on how to advocate for US interests in Southern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean is vital to preparing the next generation of leaders.”

The American Hellenic Institute offers internship positions throughout the year. The internship is an excellent opportunity for those interested in gaining experience in government affairs and foreign policy issues, specifically U.S. relations with Greece and the Republic of Cyprus. It is designed for undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates, and helps them explore new career avenues and jump-start professions in government, journalism, lobbying, or the nonprofit sector.
