Former New Democracy MEP Anna-Michelle Asimakopoulou and three other individuals are expected to be summoned by prosecutors to testify before an investigative magistrate as part of a preliminary inquiry into their alleged involvement in the case of leaked email data belonging to Greeks living abroad.
The four individuals are being investigated for offenses including the unauthorized disclosure of confidential information and violations of GDPR regulations. The case has been assigned to prosecutor Giorgos Noulis.
This development follows a related investigation conducted by the Data Protection Authority (ADAE) after complaints emerged last February from expatriate voters, who reported receiving campaign emails from Asimakopoulou without ever having consented to her use of their email addresses.
