Cihat Yaycı: “Blue Homeland” theoretician demands Erdoğan end negotiations with Greece

Athens and Ankara may be seeking to positively evaluate the meeting held in Ankara between the Minister of Foreign Affairs George Gerapetritis and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, the nationalist influencer, retired admiral and theoretician” of the “Blue Homeland”, Cihat Yaycı, was outraged.

Speaking to the TGRT network, Yaycı asked the Erdoğan government not to “sit” at the negotiating table if our country “does not comply with the Peace Treaties of Lausanne and Paris” as he falsely interprets them.

Presenting a relevant excerpt from the broadcast, the account of the Turkish Maritime and Global Center for Strategic Studies on social networks, which Yaıcı directs, comments: “Do not sit at the table with Greece without complying with the Peace Treaties of Lausanne and Paris. The Turkish Nation no longer has an inch of native land or a drop of native water to give to Greece. There should be no negotiations unless Greece renounces its claims and violations.”

At the end of the provocative post, he asks Erdoğan not to renounce the “clear stance” he took in the past towards Greece regarding the “militarisation and arming of islands with civilian status and the Greek invasion attempts against EGAYDAAK”  – that is, islands and islets that Turkey directly disputes Greek sovereignty over. This list includes 152 islands and islets of the Aegean and Cretan Seas, which Turkey seeks to “grey”.
