A digital record and a representation of the overall Greek presence abroad by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Greek Diaspora Map is a digital record and a representation of the overall Greek presence abroad and was initiated in 2015 with the with the assistance of the local authorities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Greek Diaspora Map will be accessible to all Greek citizens and also interactive, in order to be continuously enriched with data on the presence of the Greek Diaspora around the world.
This digital map was the inspiration for starting a permanent co-operation between the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs and South East European Studies at Oxford – SEESOX, which will be formally ratified with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two sides after the event.
It is noted that the above cooperation will open the horizons not only for the Greek Diaspora, but also for the wider dissemination of Greek language and Greek culture abroad
